Holocaust Matters

The British media is in a hoopla because prince Harry was photographed in one of his royal parties sporting a Nazi costume. The prince apologized for "poor choice in costume." Then some Jewish organization accepted his apology and now every anchor is happy about the resolution and they use it as a closing story, which means it's the anecdote-y fun-filler.

And I am here to say, as the founder of the Humanitarian Organization Redeeming Equality (HORE), that I disagree. You see, I am sick of the Holocaust being exclusively a Jewish thing. Although I truly do believe that it was an awful thing what the Jewish people had to go through and the genocide that Hitler bestowed upon Jews is beyond belief and no amount of anything will erase the memory.

Now that I have gotten that straightened, I want to remind everyone that many different minorities suffered, too, under the reign of nazism and almost always go unspoken for. Hitler mass murdered gypsies and disabled people, too. Moreover, Hitler rounded up all the gay people (there are no exact numbers, because, again, people seem to disregard the community) and did the same thing he did to the Jews. Germany before the World Wars was the poineer in civil rights and the breeding ground of the gay movement. So, this is a great loss to the community. I am sick of this neglect.

The media shouldn't act as if this issue is resolved until all minorities who suffered under the nazi regime accept this apology not just the Jewish minority, who have gotten much more sympathy than all the rest.

Anyway, doesn't Harry have the time to make the "right decision" in costume between tea with grandma and polo?

Watch this great movie.
